General principles

The most important task for NPA Nordiskt Papper AB Hereinafter “NPA” is to develop and maintain a financially stable and successful business. NPA takes responsibility for which we have full control. Our responsibility is valued for and in the communities and environments in which we operate and towards our employees, business partners and the society in general. For this reason, we have defined a number of basic ethics and rules of conduct:

  • We conduct our business with integrity and high morals.
  • We follow the laws and regulations of the countries in which we operate.
  • We respect the United Nations Declaration on human rights and accept our responsibility to respect the rights of our conduct towards our employees and the communities where we operate this includes activities related to indigenous rights.
    We have an open attitude to dialogue with those who are affected by our operations.
  • We respond to inquiries from outsiders and communicate with the parties in a timely and effective manner. In the area where we have influence, we strive to ensure that our suppliers and other partners adhere to the principles in our code of conduct relating to our projects.

 

Employee Relations

We have a strong and lasting relationship with all our employees, which is based on mutual respect and dignity, which is very important for NPA. The conditions of employment offered to the Employees must meet the minimum requirements of national law and relevant ILO conventions.

  • We provide a safe and healthy work environment and we are committed to continual improvement.
  • We provide equal opportunities regardless of race, color, gender, nationality, religion, ethnicity or any other distinguishing characteristics. We do not allow any discrimination or harassment.
  • We offer the employees and other persons working at NPA to report any abuse and legitimate concerns so that proper assessment and action is taken.
  • We offer employees training opportunities and support their current and future work.
  • We do not employ any person under 16 years old or the applicable higher statutory minimum age.
  • We do not use forced labor, bonded labor, or any other forms of involuntary labor at our work. We do not allow practices that restrict employees’ freedom of movement

 

Market conduct

We do not allow for any corruption, bribery and unfair anti – competitive actions that distort the market and hamper economic, social and democratic principles.

  • We will not act contrary to applicable competition laws.
  • We shall not, directly or indirectly, offer or give any undue payment or other consideration to any person or entity for the purpose of inducing such person or organization to act contrary to the prescribed duties in order to obtain, retain or direct business or get improper benefits.
  • We report all financial transactions correctly according local accounting standards that comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • We have control of our IT procedures to ensure adequate protection for our customers

Environment

NPA is convinced that our project development and activities contribute to a more sustainable world and has an active environmental management at all levels.

  • We have organized policies, management systems, procedures and training plans to ensure that all relevant laws, regulations and standards are followed.
  • To achieve continuous improvement, we engage our workforce, including subcontractors, and partners
    in environmental management.
  • Our aim is to continually improve the environmental credentials of our projects, products and services by finding ways to reduce the negative environmental harm or impacts throughout their life cycle.
